LEGENDS IS A FULL-DAY GRAVEL AND MOUNTAIN BIKE ADVENTURE DESIGNED FOR TEAMS OF TWO—THE FIRST OF ITS KIND IN COSTA RICA. COVERING 170 KILOMETERS THROUGH COSTA RICA’S BIODIVERSE LANDSCAPES AND VIBRANT TOWNS, THIS CHALLENGE PUSHES YOUR PHYSICAL LIMITS, TESTS YOUR TEAMWORK, AND OFFERS AN AUTHENTIC ADVENTURE. THE EXPERIENCE
LONG ROUTE
The LEGENDS Long Route is a 170 km challenge for teams of two, mixed or same gender, riding together across Costa Rica’s stunning landscapes. With a rule to stay no more than 300 meters apart, this adventure emphasizes teamwork, endurance, and shared achievement.
$400 PER TEAM
FULL ADVENTURE
The LEGENDS Full Adventure is a 3-day experience beyond cycling. On day one, enjoy motivational talks from gravel and MTB legends. Day two is the main race, testing your endurance over 170 km. On day three, immerse yourself in Costa Rica’s wildlife with a guided tour, featuring activities like canopy and rafting, making this an unforgettable adventure.
$1000 PER TEAM
Includes airport pick-up, accommodation and adventure tour on May 18th.
RELAY
The LEGENDS Relay is a 170 km race for teams of two, where riders tackle the course separately. Each rider covers 85 km, with a mid-race rider change. Whether on MTB, gravel, or a combination of both, this race tests your endurance, teamwork, and strategy.
$400 PER TEAM
All LEGENDS Experiences include exclusive access to inspiring talks by gravel and MTB legends the day before the event (May 16th, 2026). These motivational sessions offer valuable insights and stories from the pioneers of the sport, setting the stage for an unforgettable adventure. Additionally, all entry fees include the official LEGENDS Costa Rica 2026 jersey, medal upon completion, aid stations, medical and mechanical assistance, trophies & prizes for the winners, and other sponsor goodies.

LEGENDS Course Overview: A Unique Adventure through Costa Rica
Founded by Román Urbina, LEGENDS is a cycling adventure that redefines mountain and gravel biking through teamwork, shared challenges, and community. As the creator of the world-renowned 'La Ruta de los Conquistadores' and inductee of the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, Román has spent decades pushing athletes to exceed their limits.
The LEGENDS course offers a thrilling 170 km endurance challenge for teams of two. Riders will spend approximately 10-12 hours on the course, navigating Costa Rica’s diverse terrain. Starting and finishing in Jaco, the route climbs through San Ignacio de Acosta and returns, showcasing both ocean views of the Pacific and stunning mountain vistas.
This unforgettable journey combines physical endurance with cultural immersion and breathtaking biodiversity. Designed for those who love adventure, LEGENDS challenges teams to push their limits, explore the beauty of Costa Rica’s natural landscapes, and create lasting memories—together.
